The Barking Episcopal Area consists of five deaneries covering the five East London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Newham, Redbridge and Waltham Forest.
The population of the Barking Area is larger than most Church of England dioceses and is served by The Bishop of Barking, The Right Reverend Lynne Cullens and two Archdeacons – The Archdeacon of Barking, The Venerable Chris Burke and the Archdeacon of West Ham, the Venerable Mike Power.
Our Bishops and Archdeacons work with an Area Team made up of Area Deans, Advisors and Voluntary Officers, details of whom can be found below.
Major locations in the Barking Area include the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London City Airport, ExCeL, Royal Docks, the University of East London and Barking Riverside.
