Contact Chelmsford Diocesan Safeguarding Team
If you have a NEW safeguarding concern/allegation/disclosure to query/report please call our Duty Number (01245 29 44 44) and leave an answerphone message with your name and phone number so that the case worker on duty can call you back.
If you have a safeguarding concern/allegation/disclosure that you have previously reported to us please contact the assigned Case Worker (contact details below).
The Safeguarding Support Officers often receive a large number of general enquiries and experience very busy periods, so we recommend that you email your general safeguarding query to safeguarding@chelmsford.anglican.org where emails are being sorted by priority. We apologies in advance for any delay that you might experience whilst awaiting our response, but answers to most questions and queries can be found on this website.
We are also holding Drop-In sessions via Zoom where PSOs (Parish Safeguarding Officers) can ask any general questions. Please click HERE to see our upcoming sessions that you can book yourself onto.

Contact details for Local Safeguarding Adults Boards
If you are reporting a concern about someone that does NOT hold a role volunteering/working with children and/or adults experiencing, or at risk of abuse or neglect* please contact the relevant Local Safeguarding Adults Board as soon as possible:
* The Care and Support Statutory Guidance issued under the Care Act 2014 (14.2) by the Department of Health replaces the previously used term ‘vulnerable adult’ with ‘adults experiencing, or at risk of abuse or neglect’. A ‘vulnerable adult’ as a person aged 18 or over whose ability to protect himself or herself from violence, abuse, neglect or exploitation is significantly impaired through physical or mental disability or illness, old age, emotional fragility or distress, or otherwise; and for that purpose, the reference to being impaired is to being temporarily or indefinitely impaired.
